Printing

For my art prints, I choose Chromogenic prints (also known as a C-type), which is a process where a paper coated in optimised Silver Halide Crystals is exposed to lasers. This kind of printing offers the quality and archival properties of a photographic print with the creativity and consistency that can only be achieved from a digital process. The paper used is Fuji Professional Crystal Archive Paper, it is a professional archival resin coated colour paper with a matt finish.

Framing

The print is framed using a ‘floating box frame’ and is protected by museum glass. The print is mounted to 2mm Dibond substrate to create a sleek borderless surround for the print. There is a gap between the work and the moulding creating a ‘floating’ effect beneath the glass.

Framing plays a large role in the final look and feel of the artwork; This method displays the artwork beautifully and sets it apart as the centrepiece in the room.

Museum Glass

Museum glass provides amazing clarity and uncompromised protection. It offers a durable and easy-to-clean surface along with 99% UV protection. Most importantly though, it gives a clear view of your print thanks to its anti-reflective properties. As the name suggests, this is the same high-quality glass used by museums.
